Thank you everyone for the compliments! I'll answer several questions in one post. The pattern is by Boutique Chic by Serendipity Studio. It's number 110 and called Claire Cami Dress. I did buy the fabrics at my LQS and they're all basic quilting cottons. One Moda, one Amy Butler and the other I don't remember. I had a lot of fun making the dress and was super pleased with how it turned out so I will definitely be making more garments soon. |
great job...love the dress...I just made a dress for my son's girlfriend...I should have taken a picture..
Cute!! You did a great job and I love the fabrics.

Beautiful dress Rachel! Keep sewing - I learned to sew clothes in junior high and didn't start quilting until 10 years ago! I still sew clothes but prefer, making quilts and home decor!
You did a great job. Fits nicely also. Love your fabric choices. I sewed for myself and two daughters (eldest had only 2 boughten dresses when she left for college, one being a Prom dress) for many years, until I took up quilting, then the 4 GD's were lucky enough to get Easter dresses. Work away from home gets in the way of time. Seeing ANY sewing project in its completion is a wonderful feeling.

Very pretty dress. Years ago I use to make clothes, not anymore quilts are so much more fun and much easier also. I also made doll clothes, all sizes.
That is pretty...you did a good job.
Very nice. Cann't wait to see what else you come up with.
Cute dress. Funny, out of all the quilters I know, they started out making clothes and switched to quilting. You started out quilting and learned clothes sewing. Atleast you didn't have to learn to go from a HUGE 5/8" seam to a LITTLE BITTY 1/4" seam. LOL!
Great job -it looks wonderful on you!!
Great looking dress, perfect for upcoming summer - lovely.
You did a great job, looks very nice on you.
You should be proud as you did a great job for a first time try. I have sewn clothes most of my life, yes it's a whole different ball game from sewing quilts but as I can see, you are off to a great start so keep going. You will love the added experience.
Your dress is really cute and I love the colors , a nice change :D
wow great job!
You look like you definitely have a talent for making garments!
The more you learn to sew the better. Lovely dress and I like the combination of fabrics.
