Yarn or Fabric 07-11-2012 08:20 AM

Wow those are some seriously hideous pants but I agree - really cool fabric!
I've bought skirts for fabric in the past. I still have on skirt that I'm going to chop up and make in to a bag or something. It has women walking poodles on it :D

Wonderful cotton fabric! :D Score!

Oh I dunno, I've seen PLENTY of uglier pants ...they wear the silliest looking pajama bottoms IN PUBLIC, seems to be all the rage on the college kids around here. And the accompanying 'bed head' and sleepy, hung-over look is a MUST! 'Course this IS California!! But those you found will be great for quilts! Way to go and thinking outside the pants box! LOL

Should look great in a quilt. How do you test for fabric cotton content??

Cool I do this at the Goodwill Pound Store near by (everything sells by the pound different prices for different things like clothes $1.25 a lb or such). Great pillow cases, sheets, skirts and etc in fancy colors.

I take a piece of the fabric and lite it with a match, over the sink, and if it melts it has polyester or nylon in it, if it just burns, it is cotton...at least that is what a quilt teacher told us in a class once upon a time. It is amazing how quickly the poly will melt...scary!

Thank you Char, that makes sense. I never thought of that, but poly would melt!
