Fancy Dishes update

Decided to do a sample block! Happy to say I now feel confident to go for the full quilt!
Even satisfied with my stab-stitch hand quilting! Whoopee! Thanks to DebraK for the encouragement and to the wonderful member who found enough of the black floral for me to continue! |
Your block is very pretty. Please post the quilt when you are done. I have all the fabric for that quilt, just waiting to finish my other projects, so I can start on mine. I had a hard time, also, trying to find a black that would go with my 30's fabrics.
Love it! Looks like something I would like to do. I love 20s and 30s fabrics!
That block is so very pretty! I stab-quilt also and it may be a lot slower than others, but it still gets the job done! LOL!

This is so pretty! Love the black accent. Looks like you could put it into a window of a place of worship.
Very pretty!! That's my favorite Dresden "look" with the spiked blade at 12/3/6/9. Love the fabrics too.
Love your block - it is quite different from my Dresden plate - and yours is much more interesting!

Beautiful work!
Nicely done!
Very nice, Kitsie. I love the block. I stab also, but just on small projects. :o
Stab stitching is a way of hand quilting. I can't master getting multiple stitches on the needle, then pulling the needle through. So I just poke the needle vertically down through the quilt and poke it up through again! One stitch at a time but works or me!

What does 'stab/s' mean? Beautiful design, btw. Is 'Fancy Dishes' the name of it?

Beautiful. Is this your own design or is there a pattern for it? Love it.
Gorgeous, love, love, love it. Since this is binder are you doing a quilt as you go? And is the pattern called fancy dishes?

I love the old fashioned look. It is a great look for a scrappy and the use of the black is striking. It will be a gorgeous full sized quilt.

Very pretty block. Is that center hard to do? Looks like it would be.
