Your piece of cake pincushion is very, very perfect shadow. I thought it was real at first too. Is it yours or a gift? I have seen cupcakes done as a pincushion too. Very cute idea.

azam 03-18-2009 08:31 AM

tlrnhi & sew4fun,
You can download this pattern on-line for free. I just saw it the other day but I can't remember where. If I can find it again I'll post it for you. Try the Better Homes and Gardens website, I may have seen it there or another magazine that is affiliated with BH&G. I have to run for now but I'll try to find the site later.

Justquilting 03-18-2009 08:36 AM

Sew nice. What a great gift idea for all your sewing friends???

azam 03-19-2009 10:21 AM

Sew4Fun & Tlrnhi,
I looked for the slice of cake pattern but I couldn't find the one I originally saw that looked closer to what is pictured here. S.D., yours is much prettier than the one I found. I guess I should have bookmarked it, oh well next time. When I get a chance I'll continue to look for it or maybe I'll come across it by chance. The one that I did find is a thinner slice but I'm sure that you can make it whatever size you want once you get the basic pattern and instructions. Happy sewing and I hope that this link is of some help.
