Log cabins are one of my favorite traditional patterns. Yours is stunning. I will have to try that pattern with my next log cabin.

I had a "senior moment" you cut the lighter stripes one inch and the darker stripes one and a half inches, Sorry about the mistake!

I opened this up---and all I said was WOW!!! Love-love it. I need a quilt for my son, and wanted to do the log cabin feel, was looking and looking ----this is it. Was there a pattern you went by or just a log cabin. What sizes are your strips? Is there a trick to the curve?

I am in the middle of a light green / dark green scrappy quilt, and yours has given me inspiration. If mine looks half so beautiful as yours I will be thrilled.

Grandma Peg 02-17-2011 04:35 PM

Your quilt turned out great.

Lynda H. 02-17-2011 05:12 PM

Loved the design. I am presuming you would able to create the curved effect by the way you laid out the blocks and the placement of the dark and light fabrics. Do you have a picture of just one block that you could post? Also what was your inspiration ... Did you see it in a book, a pattern, at a quilt show or ????
