Oh my!! You have done a wonderful job. I too have been trying to do feathers for so long and
have not been happy with my results. I even paid for classes on Craftsy and STILL I haven't
conquered them.I definitely will try your suggestion. Thanks so much for the inspiration. I just
hope I can come close to the quality of yours.

margie77072 02-09-2014 01:25 PM

You did a wonderful job. I'm puzzled, however, how a longarm demo translates to the wonderful feathers on your DSM.

quilterpurpledog 02-09-2014 01:29 PM

Great job on those feathers. I am also very impressed with the quilting in the rest of the squares because it looks so coordinated. I really like Kimmy Bruner's teaching techniques andd there are so many long arm things she does that can be applied to the domestic home machine. You absorbed her techniques beautifully and have encouraged the rest of us to find that video. Thanks.

kamaiarigby 02-09-2014 01:44 PM

Yesterday I watched Kim Brunet's you tube clip about six times, I have gone back to the drawing stage as I was trying!!!!!! to do my feathers in a different style, as I can not master any, but I will keep on trying Has anyone used her DVD and book,if you have do you think it is worth the cost?

I've just started hand drawing feathers to try to get the feel for them. My goal is to have feathers that look as nice as yours do! They're beautiful!!

BizzieLizzie 02-10-2014 04:58 AM

That is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for the tip. I have had a look at the video and Kim makes it look so simple. That you again for the tip. :)

Beautiful! Thank you for posting it. Is your pattern a QAYG quilt?

pennyswings 02-10-2014 06:50 AM

Thank you so much for the information. I did find the video on YouTube and it was so great. I will start practicing on paper. May use on the quilt I am making now if I can gain enough confidence to try it.
Here is the link in case someone else wants to see it.

It is perfectly amazing!

cheya 02-10-2014 11:17 AM

I'm in awe! Everything looks marvelous. I am doing pretty good with meandering but still have trouble with anything else. I would be thrilled to be able to make the 'fireworks' you did inside the blocks and the feathering blows my mind. I hope you look at that quilt often and every time you do give yourself lots of pats on the back. You deserve to be thrilled with it.

mjmachin 02-10-2014 12:30 PM

I so much want to learn to quilt the feathers! Yours are fantastic! I will check out the you tube and see if it might click for me too....here's hoping!! Thanks for sharing.

klaws 02-10-2014 12:55 PM

QUILTNMO 02-10-2014 01:11 PM

great job and pretty quilt!!!!

quiltstringz 02-10-2014 01:26 PM

You did a wonderful job - I still can't do feathers

Jackie R 02-10-2014 03:13 PM

Your quilt is beautiful - both the quilting and quilt pattern! Is that just a narrow sashing between your pieces?

Nonna Judi 02-10-2014 03:33 PM

Your feathers look great and your quilt is absolutely beautiful! I too am fascinated with feathers but have no luck. You are in an inspiration.

JoanneS 02-10-2014 04:20 PM

It certainly DID click! Your feathers are beaautiful. I'm still not ready to jump in the pool and try FMQ. I have been using outline embroideries, and they work very nicely to quilt individual blocks.

lfstamper 02-10-2014 04:21 PM

WOW great job. Thanks for the link and inspiration.

joyce888 02-10-2014 06:42 PM

materialworld 02-10-2014 08:23 PM

Your feathers are fabulous! Great quilt!

MarleneC 02-10-2014 08:53 PM

Your feathers are fantastic. I, too, have watched lots of videos on FMQ feathers and I still feel lost. I will find that video that inspired you and see what I can learn. My quilting is also done on my DSM.

grammysharon 02-11-2014 05:49 AM

Beautiful quilt and the quilting is awesome!

mjhaess 02-11-2014 11:25 AM

Love your quilt....

IBQUILTIN 02-11-2014 03:17 PM

You must be just busting out all over with pride. It is great when you find just the right tutorial to make it click. Your mistakes are hidden very well and what you have done is wonderful

kwiltkrazy 09-18-2016 12:22 AM

Spectacular. Feathers are beautiful, and so is all the rest of the quilting, and quilt.

QM 09-18-2016 01:09 AM

Excellent work!
