Simply Stunning, Beautiful it is....
|
This is just spectacular! And thank you for sharing all your info!
The feathers look like trapunto quilting - is there extra stuffing under them, or did you use a special batt to get them so puffy? The first quilts I made were wholecloth crib blankets, about 20 years ago. They were more like comforters than quilts - certainly nothing as elegant as what you've made here. I've been looking at the stamped wholecloth kits at Heirloom Quilting - do you think that might be a good beginning project? |
Oh, its beautiful! You do wonderful work!
|
You never disappoint my dear! What fabulous work.

Elizabeth,
I used a low loft poly batting for that quilt - the Hobbs Poly Down Dark. No extra stuffing - but the background is quilted quite heavily and so you have the contrast. The preprinted wholecloth are a wonderful beginning project. You can focus on your quilting technique and you don't have to care for the design or the marking! Just give it a try! |
Andrea, I can't think of any words to add that haven't already been said here, but I agree with all of them. Seeing your quilting is really an inspiration to everyone .

Do I like it??????????
It is absolutely fabulous. Made my jaw drop with a big "Ohhhhhh". |
Beautiful work! So much time invested. This is a treasure. I'd want to display it as well.
