My friend Donna brought me this quilt for LAQ.
Donna is a very sweet lady that used to host a bible study I was part of for many years. She took up quilting only a few years ago, she is in her 70's and she is a pro! She is currently making quilts for all of her children..this one is for her daughter in law..a quick easy one..as all of her others are more difficult patterns....which she does very well. Anyway she wanted feathers...and I thought the confined feathers within the box would be pretty..I just put filler designs in all the rest....It is a very nice finish. I quilted this all freehand and used HObbs polydown batting. Thanks for looking. |

Her quilt may have been an easy one, but is has a classy elegant look to it. And as usual you did a fantastic job on the quilt. I'm hoping to have you quilt the one that I am getting ready to make for my poor DS. I have come to realize what a horrible mom I am. This kid has never gotten a finished blanket from me. I made both my girls each a crochet afghan before they were born. His never got finished. I have also made them each at least 2 other afghans, each of their husbands an afghan. Also I have made many for each of my grandchildren. I started an afghan for him before his accident to fit a queen size bed, but again It is not finished. So I told him that before any of the other family members get a quilt he will get one first. He has picked the fabric, black and orange, and the pattern by Eleanor Burns Day and Night. I'll get in touch with you to see if this is something that you can fit in and I can afford once I get close to finishing it.
