Mine is the first machine I owned. It was bought second hand from the Singer dealer for $200 in 1960. He told me at the time whenever I wanted to trade it in, I would get $200 trade-in . I was thrilled to death to have my very own machine, and I never even considered trading it in, that baby has done leather car upholstery, sofa upholstery, drapery and clothing galore. Still wouldn't part with it, and it is still worth what I paid. The only sign of use is where I had wrapped a wool band around it to stick pins into,, the darn pins made little scratches.

What a lovely machine. I don't have one but would love one.

I'm curious about the colours...I've only seen black ones on ebay here...do they come in various colours or have these coloured ones been repainted? They look great

OMG, I have a black one, but would love it if were red...or purple! Can't imagine finding one at such a price. I was tickled to death with the one I have, but can't imagine finding such a deal as you have.

Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your little beauty!

What a beautiful machine. I just love the red color. I want one so badly since joining this board and hearing everything people here say about them. I am hoping my son can come through for one for Christmas.

WOW! That's the prettiest machine I've ever seen. Lucky you.

My FW was a Christmas present from my parents in 1968 while I was in nursing school. Found the receipt that Mom paid $50 for it at $10 per week. I've sewed everything from my wedding dress to car upholstery on mine. I'll never get rid of it.

My FW was a college graduation gift in 1973, from my parents. Since I was not a sewing person I've not used it a lot and I bought a new machine when I started quilting. I will never get rid of it and someday it will go to my daughter.

I thought maybe I had mine the longest, but I see a couple people have bet me on that.

Oh and I also own my mother's 301a which she bought new. I know they are not as popular as Featherweights, but still vintage and well-liked by their owners.
