It looks great to me.

RuthiesRetreat3 05-18-2016 01:29 PM

I think this turned out better with piecing the shirts than it would have with purchased fabric. Kudos to you.

Fotoula 05-18-2016 01:32 PM

Sandygirl 05-18-2016 01:41 PM

Very clever and truly one of a kind.

ctrysass2012 05-18-2016 07:11 PM

Very nice. I'm printing a copy to save. I still have my Dad's shirts that I want to do 1+ quilts with. I'll add some shirts from the thrift store & see how many I can do. I'd like each 1 to be a diff. pattern & be able to give to my brother & his kids.

GrammaBabs 05-18-2016 07:32 PM

Your work is just the way i do most of my crafting... Perfection is way over rated...
I prefer to use what i have (which is way too much fabric).. and "make it work"... then i know it's MINE:)))) GB

You did a wonderful job! Very nice. I really like your border. Keep going with your creative quilts!!

Yooper32 05-19-2016 05:59 AM

Very cool quilt and thinking out of the box is a great mind exercise that we probably need to do more of.

Veinurse 05-19-2016 07:28 AM

Great quilt! I did a similar look for my 8 and 9 year old grandson's. Their mom loved the Pottery Barn look, like yours. I QAYG with kid prints on the back of each square, white flannel in the center and the ragged it. The kids and mom were both happy.
Thank you for sharing.

I think your quilt is great. Using inexpensive shirts is a great idea for trying our something new. I am a penny pincher and don't like to use expensive fabric for "experiments" or trial and error, so I like your idea of using inexpensive fabrics for this type of project. I have learned over the years that my enthusiasm often exceeds my skill and have ruined plenty of expensive fabrics by diving into a project without practicing first. If I could go back I would have done them with "practice" fabrics and taken the time to do some trial blocks. Congrats on your new quilt!

I know of a lady who after loosing her husband collected al his shirts and made a quilt with them. She purchased his favourite after shave and sprinkles it on the quilt when she snuggles in it. Your quilt looks as special as her's.

Nice job ... really like your design.

I love love this quilt....great job and for me a quilt that is quilted is awesome....if you haven't heard of Bonnie Hunter, you should check out her site...she uses thrift store shirts all the time. She even show you how to cut them up to get the most out of them and has tons of free patterns..... http://quiltville.blogspot.ca/p/free-patterns.html

I love your thrifty quilt. The colors are great and the placing of the squares is very artistic. Good for you!

kaylfordsollimo 07-06-2016 04:47 PM

Looks great - especially like the border treatment.

Judith1005 07-06-2016 05:24 PM

And what a successful pattern it is. I like it very much. I love the fabrics too. It borders on beachy and masculine. Hits the mark for me. Great job!!

bearisgray 07-06-2016 06:56 PM

I like it - the blue, green, and whites work well together.

stitchingcrazy 07-07-2016 05:16 AM

I understand where you're coming from. I too plan to do just as you have. There is so much out there that is useable and cheap, and works out to be beautiful as your quilt proves. The other advantage too is that I would feel less inhibited about trying new patterns and techniques on thrift store fabrics. Purchasing the shirts/dresses/ tweed items means money also goes to worthy causes too. Positives all round. Pluses all round. Happy quilting.

needles3thread 07-07-2016 12:22 PM

I like this one very much.

QM 07-07-2016 07:34 PM

You did a fine job with this. The border takes it up a notch.

Sharonquilts 07-09-2016 01:29 AM

What a great quilt design. I especially like the small squares in your border. Keep up the good work!

Tapraol 07-11-2016 06:43 AM

nena 07-11-2016 03:41 PM

Love it. You could have used your good fabric but this turned out so pretty.

annievee 07-11-2016 04:20 PM

I like it---great quilt

romanojg 07-12-2016 07:41 AM

as with every thing and every person in life, there is no such thing as totally perfect. I think that's a good thing because we all have at least that in common. That being said, I think the work you are doing right now is fantastic and would be proud to say I had completed it. The color combinations, all of it is a great work of are as far as I see. Keep up the great work and you'll come as close to perfection as the universe allows.

Painiacs 07-12-2016 09:00 AM

I say I'm not cheap- I'm thrifty!!! :)

nanacc 07-12-2016 09:21 AM

I don't think you should call it 'feeling cheap'....I think it was 'feeling creative'!! That is a great quilt!
