A few from 2013

8 Attachment(s)
The first is Arlene's. She said she is making it for herself to have if she ever has to be in a nursing home. The second was made by an 85 year old. I hope to be in such good shape mentally and physically as she is. The third is Betty's, the left over blocks from all of the quilts for her grandchildren. This one is for her.

The last is a deer panel quilt for my son. I saw one with this panel on the board. The maker was kind enough to tell me where she got it. I have two more of these to do for great nephews. The last is my view from the front door so I will be staying in. We are suppose to get 8 more hours of snow. Then it will get really frigid. That will be a good time to get some of the borders on my painted rose quilt and look at beautiful quilts posted on the board..

I like all of them, particularly the first one. If she is planning on taking it to a home please be sure and put a label on it that can't be removed. Things get "taken" in nursing homes. My dad's disappeared.

Your yard looks like ours this morning!

debcavan 01-30-2013 08:14 AM

Thanks for the advice. I will pass it on

Grandma Bonnie 01-30-2013 08:41 AM

Beautiful quilts and quilting! The snow is pretty but it can stay with you!!

Quiltngolfer 01-30-2013 08:45 AM

Beautiful quilts and beautiful scene. Isn't it wonderful to have a good warm home to be in and have a craft that we love? I am thankful.

patsynel 01-30-2013 08:49 AM

All of your quilts are beautiful!!! Cannot imagine all the snow, it is beautiful.

labug 01-30-2013 08:53 AM

Beautiful quilts.

crafty pat 01-30-2013 09:01 AM

Those are such beautiful quilts. I love the snow scene, living in a place where we don't get snow, makes me wish we could have just one snow fall a year.

MamaBear61 01-30-2013 10:03 AM

Wonderful quilts. Looks like a great day to stay in and sew, sew, sew :-)

Jingle 01-30-2013 11:01 AM

All the quilts are beautiful. Love the snow scene, we haven't had much snow -- so far. We had spring temps for a couple days, gradually getting colder.

Beautiful quilting, looks too cold by you for me, that's for sure.

Tweety2911 01-30-2013 11:33 AM

Your quilting is fabulous and a real treat to look at! The quilts are beautiful!

lallyann 01-30-2013 11:41 AM

all the quilts are beautiful! What a wintry scene you have outside your window! We are in the 60's right now and it is drizzling and windy, making for a rather balmy day here in NC!!

Shazeeda 01-30-2013 11:41 AM

Beautiful quilts and stunning quilting! ... I miss snow...

ArtsyOne 01-30-2013 11:47 AM

I love all of your quilts, but particularly the color choices of the first one. Thanks so much for posting your lovely snowy scene too - we're just icy and cold here in the Twin Cities.

Diane007 01-30-2013 12:12 PM

Mariposa 01-30-2013 02:46 PM

Lovely quilts!! Hope you stay warm & dry with all that snow outside!

BrendaK 01-30-2013 02:58 PM

Ditto what Mariposa said. All the quilts look beautiful. The scene of snow also looks beautiful. Maybe that's because I am in California and the sun is shinning. Do stay warm and keep sending us pictures of lovely quilts. BrendaK

My dad is in a care facility, and I have found that no amount of labeling is going to stop a thief.

deanneellen 01-30-2013 04:23 PM

All the quilts are really wonderful and the view from your window is so beautiful. We rarely get snow where I live but I know it can be a real pain after a while!

pinkcastle 01-30-2013 04:29 PM

Lovely quilts! I do believe we are sharing the same storm. It was a good day to spend time binding a baby quilt and working on a hand-quilted project with my neighbor.

redquilter 01-30-2013 04:35 PM

They are all lovely. I especially like the first one and the third. So colorful that one! Great quilting on all of them. I was thinking the same thing as Dakotamaid. It's so pretty and may "take a walk" if she doesn't have a non-removable label on it.

Gladys 01-30-2013 04:44 PM

Oh my, they are beautiful!

red-warrior 01-30-2013 05:40 PM

All of the quilts and quilting are lovely!!! Thanks for sharing them!

Helen S 01-30-2013 07:15 PM

Beautiful quilts! I think working on them will help you stay warm!

azwendyg 01-30-2013 07:26 PM

GORGEOUS feathers, Deb!

QUILTNMO 01-30-2013 07:40 PM

beautiful quilts and even the snow lol

Jackie Spencer 01-31-2013 05:22 AM

Love all the quilts, but especially the first one, the quilting is magnificent. I used that deer panel and made my brother a wall hanging for xmas for his den. He loved it. The lady that quilted it, thread painted the deer, and the way she quilted the bark on the trees just made it look so real, she did a beautiful job.

Your yard looks like ours this morning!

And assure the staff that YOU will launder it. Things have a way of not getting back to the resident's room. Sad but true.

lin 01-31-2013 06:25 AM

The quilts are all so pretty and I really love your quilting on them!! That log cabin...lovely! Love the pic of the snow. I love snow, but not the bitter cold and it looks pretty bitter in the picture! Stay warm and enjoy some cozy quilting time.

gabeway 01-31-2013 07:07 AM
