All I have is scraps ... bins and bins of scraps that never seem to go away!

And didn't realize that I forgot to press the pastel one!

paintmejudy 09-07-2016 12:22 PM

I love seeing what comes out of scraps.....always something amazing.

SHELTIE'SMAMA 09-07-2016 01:28 PM

Have a pile of 9 patches and was wondering about how they would look bordered just like you did. Now I know - they'd look wonderful! Thanks for posting the picture.

wonderful scrappies...I especially like the blocks in the pastel one and would love to know the name of the block.

quilterpurpledog 09-08-2016 03:27 AM

I like your scrappy quilts-beautifully done! I especially like the pastel design. I think you did a great job of design with your scraps. So interesting.

This framing method would be perfect for blocks that are not quite all the same size. Am going to remember this when I find my stack of blocks.

Karen G 09-08-2016 05:07 AM

Love them both! Your feet are cute, too!

Lilrain 09-08-2016 05:10 AM

I am liking scrappy more and more

Evie 09-08-2016 05:58 AM

Great tops! You are one busy lady.

EmiliasNana 09-08-2016 05:58 AM

Beautiful, including the toes.

Sharonquilts 09-08-2016 07:21 AM

Nicely done. I'm saving lots of odd sizes/shapes of scraps and look forward to piecing them into a piece of fabric to see what I come up with. No idea what quilt pattern will come out of it all but should be fun to see what develops.

Jane Quilter 09-08-2016 07:31 AM

I love scrap quilts, I just never have enough scraps. So I have 2 questions: where do you get your scraps and where do you get your toe nail polish?

QM 09-08-2016 11:04 AM

I love these scrappies, especially the stars.

cjackaitlin 09-08-2016 11:25 AM

I swear, scraps make baby scraps. Your quilts are great.

Fabric Galore 09-08-2016 03:01 PM

Great quilts. Do you use batting and backing to quilt them?

Jan Rutherford 09-08-2016 06:10 PM

Love the scrappie toes!!!!

retiredteacher09 09-08-2016 06:16 PM

As I was sorting through some fabric donations today, it dawned on me that I have more scrap boxes than I have yardage boxes (bigger than a fat quarter.). I do, however, get scraps from two volunteer groups. I should be sewing rather than looking through the forum. :)

Thanks for more inspirational scrappies!

Connie

Nice scrappy quilts.

waltonalice 09-09-2016 02:44 AM

I would have thought of using a single background fabric for the borders, to "unify" the design by sort of hiding the scrappiness. I now see how wrong I would have been. Your border fabrics highlight each of the 9 patches and bring out their unique qualities. You did a wonderful job of bringing the disparate fabrics to life. I'm inspired, because I just went through a bag of small scraps of fabrics that I loved. I wanted to use them again, but in a way that would let them shine in a new setting. Then I realized that most of the pieces were very small. I think that several of them would produce 4 patches in a 9 patch. I'm going to make them beginners/enders. Thanks for the inspiration.

coopah 09-09-2016 04:43 AM

Like them both! And the feet make the picture interesting! :-)

jamsbuying 09-09-2016 07:51 AM
