Well here it is.......With the help of my loving friends & fabric angels, I was able to finish this... I call it Chain Of Love. Well you all know my delema story. :(
I figured when I back it, (I found tiger print fleece- still gotta buy it tho) I'll use a Drk Brown Binding. OR would black be better???
Anyways heres my baby..

Love your quilt! I vote for very dark brown binding. I think that will keep the animal print alive!

Looks great, Bev! You saved the day!

quiltwoman 08-14-2008 04:55 AM

Looks great! I'd audition both black and brown--I have a feeling they both will look good and it will be a matter of preference :-)

Marcia 08-14-2008 06:02 AM

I'm doing a quilt with skulls for my son for Xmas.

Turned out great Bev. I love the scrappy blocks tied together with the print sashings. I'm glad you found enough in your scrap bucket to finish it up.

Great job! Brown would be better to bind it, and here's why, black with attract lint, hair, furr, and even threads which would really detract from the beauty of your quilt.

Great job Bev!!!

Good advice. Black is one of my favorite colors. I know its hard with clothes but never thought of it quilt wise.

Thank Goodness, I was afraid it would show up, But luckily it just all blended together. Some pieces we only 4 inches long, but I sewed them all together making a long chain, then finished edges. Hense the name Chain of love.....

I put a 1.5" border around the center square of my daughter's patchwork, it's been in use about a month now, and I'm always picking at it. Before I photograph it or show it to anyone I have to run the lint roller over it. Maybe there is "great black" out there that doesn't do this, but I haven't found it.

Another thought is that black might show wear by starting to fade sooner than a dark brown would.

JoanneS 08-16-2008 09:32 AM

I can't tell if the darker color in the animal print of the sashing is dark brown or black - but that is the color I vote for in the binding. Smashing quilt!

quilterj 08-16-2008 09:41 AM

Bev what a wonderful quilt. No matter what you finish with it already looks great.
