Finally finished Queen sized quilt
3 Attachment(s)
Finally, after 8 months, heel spur injections and knee surgery my first Queen sized bed quilt is finished. It started out as a practice Queen sized quilt because I never made one this large before. I bought the Timeless Treasures Royal Peacock collection fabric. Every piece in the collection. I showed it to my daughter and she fell in love with it. She asked what I was going to do with it and I said I didn't know. It was soooo pretty I just had to have it. My daughter has since gotten engaged and now I know that I'm making her a Queen sized quilt for her wedding shower with the peacock fabric. I wanted to make one for my bed first as trial and error. I usually make wall quilts up to twin sized and do my best at quilting them. I don't have a longarm machine nor am I very good at FMQ. I have asked Charisma to quilt the peacock quilt for me when it's done because the fabric is breathtaking and I want the quilting to be also. The quilt I have posted today is Eleanor Burns Lovers Knot and the backing is plain red. Enjoy.

Wonderful quilt. Have you picked out a pattern yet for the Peacock? I also admired that fabric but did not succomb to its siren song of "buy me". LOL

Beautiful quilt. You did a great job on it. Takes some time to get used to FMQ, but once you learn to puddle that fabric, its off you go. You did very well on this one.

Gorgeous colors -- I love this pattern. I am inspired to finish the quilt I started for my son in March. I asked him what colors he wanted and he said "tree greens" and then I picked out three patterns and he chose "Lover's Knot" -- I probably will never tell my handsome Marine son the name of the pattern!!!

Very pretty. I also made a wall hanging a couple of years ago and thought the pattern just went together so easy. That's why I decided to do it again. Three fabrics and not a lot of decision making. Thanks for sharing.

I've made 3. One years ago for my son's wedding w/reversible shams. No pics. One for my sister, tied, also w/reversible shams. And one for me, quilted on my Pfaff GrandQuilter. Love the pattern. Love Eleanor Burns patterns. When I first started quilting, I bought her books. Still use them. The first 3 pics are my sister's. The last is mine. Yes, I like purple.

Nice job, beautiful!

I love paisley prints! Barbara Brackman just had a history lesson on her email about paisley and its popularity over centuries. If you do not subscribe to her email and like short sweet history lessons with lots of old photos you might try it out.

I am sure it is even more spectacular in person.
|
WOW!!! Gorgeous quilt!! Love the colors and the pattern is very interesting!!! I like the way it "weaves" in and out.
