Borders looks so innocent--but dang--these took me over two hours to put on. I'm too careful I guess. :?
I couldn't decide on a width for the first one--3" too narrow, 3.5" close, 4" too wide... so I cut 4.25" for a finished 3.75" Good grief. The second border was easier on me-it's cut at 2". Binding is cut--it'll be the green. Measures 84" square and man, this baby is square--the corners matched perfectly when I folded it up. Overall, I'm pleased. Now for my lake... |
How beautiful! Good job, I can never get mine SQUARE!
Wow! A true square. That's great. It's very pretty.
That's got to be one of the most beautiful log cabin quilts I've seen! You did a great job picking the colors and piecing it! :)
Looks like a wonderful quilt top! You done did good..... :) Look forward to seeing the "finished" quilt.
That is beautiful. I'm now inspired to make another log cabin, but this time using those different sized logs to make the curves. Great work!
great color choice for the border, makes it more beautiful
it looks great!!
I really like it I wasn't sure at first but now that its all together it blends so well  Great job
Oh, WOW -- that is just simply beautiful!!! And when can I expect it to arrive for a visit at my house
Thanks!! :D :D
I think I'll have my quilter copy the flower design, but curve the petals more--and do that over the whole quilt with a variegated pastel thread. But, she may a better idea. She loves to be creative. Now I have the Black and White Splash, A Walk Through the Park, and the Garden to take to her. My goal was to complete Kayaking on the Lake, and a Triple Irish Chain before school starts. But, yikes--this will be bigger than a spring vet bill to pay for all these. I can't take them until after the 9th--quilt show at Quail Summit. |
I love your floral log cabin. It's so pretty. Great work.
Perfect border choices

Wow barnbum!!
You have every right to pat yourself on the back for this one. It is so very pretty and an watercolor art quilt all in the same place. Gee, I wish I could do something so nice as this one. |
Beautiful!!!

All those decisions, and it looks beautiful! I am really in love with the curvy effect. Another one for the bucket list!
barnbum, this is even better than before. It is just scrumptious. I reall ylike how you did the borders. Very nice
Now, I am sure I am not alone in wanting to know how to make this. I would like to know if you think we could find a tut or where if anyplace we can get more info? If you ever build a house, it may be the first ever squared home. LOL wouldn't that be a first! |
very very nice.

I just love this quilt!! :D I like the floral part & have it on my to do list, for someday!! You have done a wonderful job!! :D :D :D :D |
Just absolutely gorgeous!!!
wvdek--there are basic directions on my first post of this quilt... just do a search for "watercolor floral log cabin" and it should pop up... then you'll have to scan through the pages to find it. But--it's just dark strips at 1.5" and lights at 1". The first light has to be 1.5" though. Then just follow a close up of a square in the photo.
