wooooooooo hoooooooooo I finally finished making the Orange Crush quilt top yesterday!!!! I decided to go with a plain solid navy border instead of a scrappy border since the quilt was very busy.

I am going to call it "Lazy Days of Summer"!!

Kyiav10 09-29-2008 06:19 PM

WOW!! Love it. Great work and I think you made the right decision on the border.

Wow-that is really pretty. So bright and sunny and cheerful!! My first thought when I saw it was sunflowers. But, I love the name Orange Crush for it. Great quilt-and I like the border, too.

Gorgeous! You did a great job! I stalled at the scrappy borders that do not fit. You've encouraged me to take another stab at it!

Quilting Aggi 09-30-2008 02:34 AM

Very pretty and it looks good in the room too.

You are one talented lady. My question to you and the others that can produce such beautiful works is when do you sleep? I NEVER have enough hrs in the day to cook supper and tend to laundry, etc. All of my sewing usually coms on the weekend which is why my house is such a mess!
But you quilt is stunning! I just kind of got off track for a minute. :-)

sewjoyce 09-30-2008 05:39 AM

ooooohhhhhh, pretty :!:

judee0624 09-30-2008 08:39 AM

Good job!. I am ready to quilt my Orange Crush after moaning and groaning over it for months. My son likes it so he inspired me to finish it. I had to go for help from my LQS to arrange the rows on point. Mine looks different than yours but I am using a black border for the same reason you chose yours. Good decision!

love it and what a perfect name!

barnbum 09-30-2008 03:56 PM

WOW!! That's looks fancy and country all at the same time! The fabrics look like solids, but I'm thinking some aren't? I need a closer look... :D What a complicated pattern!

I came back to say--they kind of look like sunflowers!! :D

Bernadette Harwood 09-30-2008 04:29 PM

Absolutely beautiful. I agree you did right with a solid border. Great Job!!!

PrettyKitty 10-01-2008 01:51 AM

The only solid in it is the navy blue border, the rest are all various tone on tone fabrics! the pattern was not that complicated. It was from Bonnie's website www.quiltville.com and the mystery was called "Orange Crush". I want to make her "Old Tobacco Road" mystery quilt next. I didn't get a chance to make it when it was posted on Labour Day weekend, but I printed off all the instructions as I really loved the final look! That will be my next full size quilt project me thinks. First though I need to finish making up a couple more Christmas tree skirts. I just need to bind them now and will work on that tonight.. One of them is sold and I want to send it in the mail by early next week!
