I wanted to share my 3rd quit with you. I made it for my moms 78th birthday. I didn't grow up with quilts, so this is something new for my mom. I hope my mom uses it and doesn't save it like most of her decent stuff.

The quilt top is made from my scraps plus a jelly-roll and a few fat quarters. It was fun to make. It measures 80X64. I really like the neutral gray back with the colorful top.

I did one like this one for a granddaughter. But I am saving it to give to her on Christmas. I am doing other quilts for some of the other grandchildren too.
I agree with you it was fun to make it.

What a beautiful quilt! Your mother will treasure it.

I know what you mean but putting it back and not using it. My Mama would do the same thing. I would ask her, "Are you saving it for a rainy day?" LOL When she passed away, I found sheets, blankets, etc that she had never opened. Just used what she had.

My mother did the same thing. Not me; if I have something new it gets used right away. But I tell my kids not to give me things like that. I request things like plasma TVs, DVD players, big things that all the kids can go together and get me. No more tchochkes....

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. My mom likes it allot. She said she was going to save it for when she moves. I told her she HAD to use it now. It's on the couch. I'll have to make myself one someday.

Oh my, it's wonderful! Scrappy but still so very well put together/thoughtful in regard to color and mood.

(My mom will be 74 this year...I can only hope to someday give my mom as lovely a quilt as the one you gave yours!) You've inspired me!
