Finished a 10 Year Old UFO

2 Attachment(s)
This quilt is about 10 years old. I started it right after my daughter got married, hoping for a grandchild. I bought the fabric at Hancock Fabrics, while it was still going strong and there were four of them within range to drive to. :( Back in the day I quilted with only 100% cotton batting, so this is a heavy quilt. I think it may need to stay in the family for when we have a little one.

It's darling! It would be cute to hang on a wall in a nursery room.

Oh my! I bet it feels good to get it finished up.

It is so pretty. I can just hear the little animated looking critters around the center.

zozee 05-28-2018 05:55 PM

Cute as can be, and I applaud you for going back and finishing it.

No, all machine stitches. It's hard to see but I outline quilted all the plants and animals around the border. I love the animals... the artwork of Janet Weichert-Frisch. They remind me of the animals in Wind in the Willows.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Wonderful finish. I love how the colors of the quilt bring out the colors in your fun border print. You really have a nice way of coordinating your fabric. Definitely a keeper...

DJ 05-30-2018 05:29 AM

Very nice, indeed! I put things like that in my "hope chest". I think my final grandchild is on the way!

Rose_P 05-30-2018 08:17 AM

It's adorable. I love that it would be great for either a boy or girl. My son and DIL were married 13 years when they finally had their baby when both were 36, and then the second son became a father at age 40. So don't give up too soon!

Jean45 05-30-2018 03:35 PM

This is sssooooo cute. Why did you wait so long?

Jordan 05-30-2018 05:06 PM

Cute quilt. Don't give up on the grands. We waited 11 years for our first one and now we have 9. Each son had 3 each, I never would have dreamed this. God is good all the time!!

sewbizgirl 05-31-2018 06:44 AM

That's wonderful, pewa!

sJens 05-31-2018 11:36 AM
