Finished! 3D Pinwheels wall hanging
1 Attachment(s)
I learned to make these 3D pinwheels at our March Guild meeting. The pattern was in a recent Quilt magazine. This is for my dear sister's 59th birthday, which was two days ago, but she'll have to wait to get it until after the 9th of April, so I can take it to the April Guild meeting! She is a very understanding sister....
The finished size of this is 30" by 30". Even after this was lovingly handquilted and then bound in the pink, I felt it needed a little more, so I added yo-yo's and buttons to the centers of all of the pinwheels. Hope you like it! P.S. If you saw the pic of the Lancaster AQS show, there is a 3D pinwheel quilt there. I might decide to let that one inspire me next.... |

Your sister will definityly enjoy this wonderful quilt. The embellishments are spectacular...spining in the wind!
|
Thanks all! You know, the yo yo's and buttons really do enhance the pinwheel effect, don't they? Honestly, that's not why I put them on. Now, they remind me of the plastic pinwheels on sticks that we played with as children.
I don't think any of you know my sister -- she lives in a suburb of Cincinnati -- but if you do, don't tell her what it looks like! |

Just goes to show that there is almost nothing that's really new -- just recycled!
