Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. I ended up outlining the striped bars with stitch in the ditch and and securing across the bars every three to five (depending on how many were in each row/column). For the black sashing, I chose a Lead Day design that could be easily modified for the long spaces. I'm very pleased with the way this turned out and I think the swap recipient likes it as well. What a neat pattern never saw that one before just got off Henry Glass site at least I think that was the name and they have many free patterns for minatures. Your work is great thanks for sharing all sides of it too.
