Absolutely gorgeous blocks. Congratulations on completing the blocks. The main hard work is done now. Finishing touches and what a masterpiece you will have.

I have always been in awe of your work. Your craft-woman-ship is truly breathtaking. Dear Jane must be a delight for you! Beautiful little blocks certainly are your forte. I don't think I will be making a Dear Jane as I have so many of my own ideas - but your work always inspires me to do more "little" projects. Amazing talent, dear granny.

So far 352 hours and 4122 pieces :-) That does not include the hour it took me to add the numbers of time and pieces I attached to each finished block.......
The longest with 7hours was F-9, a couple of simple ones were made in half an hour.
It is the first time that I want to keep track of the time that goes into a quilt.

Thanks for all the compliments, it really means a lot to me!

Oh my goodness, your blocks are just beautiful. Maybe once it cools down a bit you'll feel like sewing it together. You should be very proud as that is quite an accomplishment!!!!!!!!! Way to go.

Beautiful! Such soft colors - and I love the cornerstones! Have fun making the triangles and the scallopped edge. It will truly be an heirloom.

Wow!!! I just love the colors. I'm so impressed!

LindaMRB 08-20-2012 07:30 AM

I am envious and in awe!
Do keep going.

I just started the Dear Jane and have only 3 squares done, in random order. I am hand piecing just because I am crazy so started with simple ones while I master the handwork. This may NEVER get done.

Please keep us posted on your progress so others are encouraged to do the same!

JudyTheSewer 08-20-2012 07:45 AM

Gorgeous! I thought the same as so many other posters; great fabrics, great colors, great placement, exquisite craftsmanship, those cornerstones are terrific. I found myself studying it for many minutes and smiling the whole time while noticing the different aspects of it. Wow, Wow, Wow!

blondeslave 08-20-2012 07:48 AM

That many patterns in one quilt would drive me over the edge, I'm a one our two pattern quilter.
But this is pretty and colors are well matched. Thanks for sharing.

sniktasemaj 08-20-2012 09:39 AM

It looks like so much work and time. I don't know if would ever get one done. It is worth the effort, I'm sure.

Absolutely Stunningly Beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So fresh and clean and feminine and calm and and and and ..........

As for MrGranny59 ... I think that "nice" comment means he was speechless at the beauty before him! (that'd be you and DJ in 2nd place! :D (and you can tell him I said that! :)

As for pressing at 2am ... silly woman ... you scare me that you might have burned the blocks.

And did I read that correctly? that evey block has a different print fabric? WOW?
My goodness .... how did you get all the colour coordinated fabrics??
Was the white all the same fabric?

It's just so spectacular ... knowing you, it won't be long til you continue on and get it all sewn together.
I'm sure you can't wait to see it totally finished.
(and to get another "nice" from DH! :D)

char634w 08-20-2012 11:25 AM

Dear QuiltE

Thank you so much..........especially for the good laugh!! I was not ironing the blocks at 2 a.m. I ironed Mr Granny`s shirts!!! lol My household is a complete mess. But even at the radio they tell the people to stay away from physical work whenever possible at this heat!? :-) We had again 35 degrees today and it does not feel much cooler at 10p.m.

I bought a whole bolt of the white fabric and lots and lots of 1930`s fabrics, also on this board. At the time I started with the DJ I stopped buying new fabric and after a while DH was asking very concerned whether I had lost my credit card! :-)
And he definately was not in awe, neither of me nor the blocks................he simply doesnt have a clue!! I might have to show him all of your kind responses.
