I love this rag quilt. My mother-in-law is 93 and she is living with us. She always enjoys picking out the fabric for my quilts. It is so nice to have her around.

Cute quilt. Be sure you tell your g-daughter the story, of how your father helped choose the fabric placement.
I think this story will add to her love of the quilt.
You are a special lady to be a minister's wife.

No pattern to this. These are five inch squares that are sewn with 1/2 seams. 12 across and 12 down. There were 6 colors that were used in each row twice. But...I realized I was shy a few squares of the butterfly material (and couldn't find any more of the same) so I bought some green flannel. So instead of 24 squares of each fabric there are 24 of 5 of them and 12 of the butterfly and 12 of the green. This is a "random" pattern with a little bit of help. I had my 84 yr. old Dad who loves to play Sudoku figure out a way to use all the fabrics only twice in each row and column. So it's a "planned random" design.
