Our son and family are coming over this afternoon to celebrate Christmas with us. Being that my husband and son are both ministers and had services for Christmas and then today...you can see why we couldn't get together yesterday.

Well, I needed that extra time because clipping the seams of this rag quilt took soooo much longer than I anticipated! Well it's done and I'm much happier with it than I thought I would be. Initially I wasn't attracted much to rag quilts but I saw this fat quarter bundle of flannels and they were so pretty together that I thought it would be worth a try. I only had to add 2 additional fabrics to make it all work.

Even got my 84 year old Dad involved. He's a Sudoku fanatic of sorts so I asked him to come up with a "random" pattern that made sure that none of the fabrics were used more than twice in any row...up and down. And he did it!

Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's to all y'all! ;-)

Absolutely wonderful! My dad is 86 and lives with me. Aren't we lucky to have them?

I usually am not a fan of rag quilt. Now realize it must be the fabrics that usually I don't like. This is very cute! Bet your DGD will love this.

We are so thankful that our minister is more than willing to have a wonderful Christmas Eve service. It was the true blessing to a great holiday. Today we are under 6" of snow, which is very unusual for this part of NC, so no church today. At least we had the Eve service to enjoy.

Ministers and their families do have to make many adjustments to their lives in order to serve their congregations. We all too often don't appreciate all their families' contributions to the minister's calling. Thank you for your support.

Very pretty and I bet your Dad loved helping. He did a great job, too. And so did you!! Merry Christmas!

Thank you for your kind words! My husband has been ordained for 26 years and our son for 4. It is a challenge especially for Easter and Christmas to get together with family but of course we wouldn't want it any other way. Now that our sons are grown and have families of their own and are not living nearby, we are considering having a "family holiday" once a year where we pick a not so busy time for all involved to try to get together. Hopefully we'll be doing it sometime this year after Easter. I hope this will become a wonderful family tradition.
