Finished Eclipse
 

I just finished binding this quilt I quilted on our "new old" longarm. I'm still a little intimidated, but am having such fun learning how to use the machine. I quilted a sort of paisley swirl. This is for my BIL and his girlfriend. He likes green, she likes purple, and they both wanted modern. Thanks for all the encouragement I always get from you all! I keep learning!

Beautiful and the design is very intriguing. You can certainly spend lots of time looking at the secondary effects of the design. Yes, it does portray an Eclipse.

Nice quilt. I have a couple questions if you don't mind. What size were your blocks? Did you follow the pattern in your quarter sphere placement or did you improvise?

I really like that! Great way to satisfy both him and her with their favorite colors. The modern look is cool.

I think the blocks were 8-1/2 inch finished. I did follow the suggested placement, rather than just random. I'm sorry the colors didn't show as they really are. The shaded part of the porch makes it look like the bottom half of the quilt had different colors than the top half, but they're all the same.

Nice quilt, I think they are going to like it as well. I like the way the circles have movement.

Wow, great color selection. All the different patterns it makes really keeps your attention on the quilt. I love when a quilt design, through color or pattern, makes your eye move around the quilt and keeps you looking at the quilt longer than normal. Wonderful job.
