Finished Just in Time for the Wedding...

3 Attachment(s)
now I'm free to work on the wedding cake for next weekend. This is our wedding gift to our special niece an her hubby-to-be. I probably should have put more on the label, but it is just a throw for their hunting-themed den.

pdcakm 06-22-2014 08:52 AM

wow. this is a beauty.
hate to ask. but did they get married in 1914?

feline fanatic 06-22-2014 08:55 AM

They are sure to enjoy the quilt and the good news is there is still time to fix the date on the label. ;)

Diane007 06-22-2014 09:00 AM

it will make a very nice wedding gift

Grandma Bonnie 06-22-2014 09:09 AM

Very pretty! I didn't even notice the date being wrong! Lucking some people are more observant than I am. They will love it!

That should say 'luckily' not 'lucking'.

Awesome! Awesome!

Tartan 06-22-2014 11:09 AM

Great quilt and pillow! Maybe you can appliqué a rectangle over the date with the correct year?

dunster 06-22-2014 11:20 AM

Your quilt will make a wonderful present for the newlyweds. I think the date will become an amusing story for them if you leave it as it is.

moreland 06-22-2014 11:48 AM

Beautiful setting for the theme print! I'm always alert to ideas for these type quilts. Have a lot of hunters in my family. Thanks for sharing.

A very pretty quilt for the happy couple.

Enjoy the wedding.
peace

gertz 06-22-2014 01:58 PM

It's a present for the wedding later this month, Right.

MommyA 06-22-2014 02:58 PM

Thank you all for catching my mistake. The wedding is next Saturday, but the label will reprinted yet this evening and replaced on the quilt. I'ts embarrassing, but not as much as it would have been without all your sharp eyes.

Grandma Peg 06-22-2014 03:02 PM

Very nice quilt and love the label!

sewdarnbusy 06-22-2014 03:08 PM

I like the 1914 glitch.... just blame it on Y2K... The quilt is beautiful.

Beautifully pieced and beautifully quilted.

rainbowcat 06-23-2014 03:28 AM

Very pretty quilting and piecing. I like the colour combo combined with the star pattern. Makes for a very calming and balanced quilt.

gabeway 06-23-2014 04:23 AM

Awesome job!

BrendaK 06-23-2014 04:31 AM

Stunning. How much fabric did you have to have get to do all that fussy cutting? I think that the label is great no matter what date but..............think that they will love the original label. Can you put it on the back of the pillow just for fun? BrendaK

wantanaquilt 06-23-2014 07:46 AM

Love the quilt so pretty shame u just can't change the 19 to 20 instead of having to do it over again. How do u all do that fancy writing on your quilts? Don't care much for these labels in books. I would like something more personal myself & my handwriting is horrible Tk.U

MommyA 06-23-2014 11:43 AM

BrendaK, I don't remember how much fabric I bought. I just guessed since I didn't have a pattern. After cutting out the deer 4.5" squares, I used the leftovers for the corner squares. I made the label on the computer so it was easy to fix the mistake and reprint and I like your idea of putting the original label on the pillow...will see if I can dig it out of the waste can. Thank to everyone for your nice comments.

red-warrior 06-23-2014 12:31 PM

Beautiful quilt. Great choice of block for the deer fabric! I might have to do something like this for my grandson!
