Finished my first quilt! :D

So, last Thursday or Friday I believe, I posted seeking advice on how I should quilt my first quilt for my first baby. I'm currently five months pregnant and had not yet found out the gender. The next day we did, and we're having a little boy! And now my little boy has a quilt! It's the first time I've quilted anything. I'm pretty pleased with it even with it's issues :P I hope it's something my son will enjoy for several years.

It's a beauty, any little boy would be thrilled with it. Wish I was a quilter when my own two boys were small, all I ever made them were matching jackets and clothes. We are all looking forward to see the many other quilts you will be making now that you have your first one finished. Thank you for sharing with us and congratulations on your soon to arrive son.

Yes, I came up with the pattern. :) I do freelance artwork in my spare time for book covers and game designs, so I have a Wacom tablet. I drew the design to scale on the computer and then broke down each section to be printed like a puzzle then reassembled the paper and traced each piece on to a light weight fusible interfacing. I didn't trust myself to freehand a giant Totoro on to fabric. lol

EDIT: This was my original design. I came up with the tree later because at the time I wasn't sure how I wanted to fill in the background.

First quilt!?! Clearly you have a gift! That is one of our very favorite anime movies and I just love how you made Totoro and the susuwatari into a quilt! So adorable! Your son will love it and when he is old enough, he will love the movie too!
