Finished one more from my bag of 2.5" blah blocks

I've been gradually working on the quilt tops that I made last fall out of my 2.5" blocks. I've not finished them all, but I did recently quilt this one. I'm constantly learning. Last year I did my first FMQ and while I have a long ways to go, I'm not the kind of person who wants to just practice on non functional items, so I've taken it on as my goal to practice on quilts that I can give away. This was one of those that I was thinking would end up being a charity quilt.

Here's the top as posted previously:

And there is the finished quilt. It is quite large. Thankfully I have a Janome 7700 with a large harp!

Thanks! I am so pleasantly surprised by how it turned out that I am kind of itching to quilt another one. Don't worry..I've got stacks to quilt. :)

I love it. I have also a Janome 7700, but even following exactly what the manual told (DS1, tension 7, length of the stitch 0, feetdogs down) my uper thread (coton very good quality) is broking very often, and about every 10 point, it jump one point, so the stitching is not regular : something like that : _ __ _ _ _ _ __ . I changed the needle to be sure it was fine, tried size 80, 90... always the same mess! I used a Elna 1 for the parts I could do with, any problem of tht kind. But in the middle, I needed the space given by the Janome arm.

May I ask you if you have tricks !! And excuse my english, i am french.

One thing that I found really helps is the white gene washer, another is feed dogs up...some times I cover them and sometimes I dont. I find gutterman works best.
