a finished quilt (after 3 years)

Hi, Ladies:

I made the top of this quilt three years ago. I posted a few pictures back then and asked if I should add an additional border to it. I had two options but couldn't decide which one. After that, my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. This quilt top sat there for three years. I finally finished it without adding additional border. I also quilted it using my regular Brother sewing machine. This quilt is 90x90", which is pretty big for a small sewing machine. I learned my lesson. I won't make these kind large quilt unless I have a bigger sewing machine. After I finished the quilt, I felt good about completed the process. It is a good feeling. :)

First picture is top, second is back.

Thanks for looking.

I love this quilt! I love the background you worked with. It really is beautiful. It goes really good with the blocks and the border too.

Beautiful quilt! Love the colors. Very fall like.

QuiltnNan 10-29-2018 01:16 PM

nicely done

cashs_mom 10-29-2018 01:19 PM

I think its great. I love the borders that you have on it now. It looks great.

What pattern did you use?

bearisgray 10-29-2018 01:35 PM

Wow - you did that great quilting on a "regular" sewing machine! Awesome!

BSKTLOFR-QUILTER 10-29-2018 01:40 PM

Perfect. No additional border needed. I understand about no more until get new machine feeling. I imagine you picked up a few pointers from this one and if you decide to quilt another one on this machine, it will go much easier.
Sorry for your loss. Quilting saw me through the pain when I lost my grandson in Afghanistan. I experienced lots of kisses from heaven. (Tears)

Beautiful quilt! Now go get a massage on those shoulders! Your quilting is lovely, and I know how difficult it is to wrangle a large quilt through a small machine throat! Well done.

Great job!!

maryb119 10-29-2018 03:23 PM

Beautiful quilt!!! That is large to quilt on a regular sewing machine. Good job!!

zozee 10-29-2018 03:23 PM

Very classy!!! The colors remind me of Indian spices. Can’t believe you quilted it on a regular size machine! That’s perseverance!

Perseverance is right! You did a fantastic job. But, it reminds me of a Persian rug design. Beautiful!

Pretty quilt, I'm glad it's finished so you get to enjoy it now.

luvstoquilt 10-30-2018 05:25 AM

I made that quilt a few years ago as a gift but I think yours is prettier! What a beautiful job of quilting too.

SusieQOH 10-30-2018 05:41 AM

Oh how gorgeous!!!!!! Love the border with the little squares. Great quilt!
When I have a quilt that size it goes to a long armer. I'm not experienced enough to tackle it on my own. You did a great job.

lorimax5859 10-30-2018 06:00 AM

Great job. Love the colors.

sash 10-30-2018 06:12 AM

It is a beautiful quilt; great job, and I don't think it needed another border, beautiful as is. Awesome job on the quilting, I know how hard it is to quilt on a dsm, and probably why my shoulder hurts so badly. Thanks for posting/sharing.

sewbizgirl 10-30-2018 06:16 AM

WOW!! I love everything about your gorgeous quilt! You did a great job quilting it on a small machine. You would really enjoy a sit-down longarm, with room for everything.

Mariposa 10-30-2018 06:49 AM

Congrats on the lovely finish. Kudos for quilting it on your DSM!

Mariah 10-30-2018 06:52 AM

I admire your sticking with it to the end. It is so easy to make a UFO out of this big project.
It is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

I agree - gorgeous quilt!

sue.ross.8782 10-30-2018 07:07 AM

absolutely divine. The black squares are like punctuation in the design of the front. Gives the top a pop.

DJ 10-30-2018 07:24 AM

It's so pretty. I'm glad you finally finished it.

MicheleC 10-30-2018 07:43 AM
