Fire Island Hosta & Bali Wedding Star - WIP
5 Attachment(s)
I completed Judy Niemeyer's Fire Island Hosta quilt and have it hanging on the wall in the guest room.
I am currently working on Niemeyer's Bali Wedding Star pattern. I am making two wallhangings for my laundry room. All pieces are laying on the floor so if you see any errors in my layout let me know. I often take a picture to help me find errors. If I could do it again, I would choose beige neutrals for the background. I don't really like the colored background. Oh well, it's a learning process. :p Elise |
Those would definitely NOT be going in my laundry room. Those would be out where everyone could see how beautiful they are.
Your quilts are absolutely gorgeous. How difficult is sewing along a curve with PP?? I have Judy Niemeyer ISLAND SUNRISE which is a New York Beauty block but have never actually sewn a curved seam before. I am just plain chicken.
Gorgeous! I like the coloured backgrounds.
beautifully done
Oh, my goodness! What beautiful work and the patterns are so intricate. They are very impressive and I am in awe. Thank you for sharing because your work is so inspiring.
Those are beautiful quilts. Both need to be on display where they can be seen. I see you have a quilt inspector who helps decide what you can work on. Cats are the worst at just knowing where they can be in the way the best. lol

There's too much work to put them in there with dirty socks… lol |
I love the background on the first one!! Just beautiful wallhanging! I've printed out the PP pattern but too intimated to try it yet! Yours is gorgeous

Simply STUNNING.
Wow, both are gorgeous. You must have some laundry room to warrant a wall hanging like that.
Gorgeous!!
omg! so so beautiful my eyes literally popped out of my head, beautiful work
Elise~ these are gorgeous!! Love the Fire Island Hosta, and the Wedding Ring is coming along nicely. Thank you for sharing your projects with us! :)
beautiful work. love your colors too.
They are both beautiful. I consider myself a fairly advanced quilter but how difficult are these to make?
I am in agreement: totally magnificent work, but in the laundry room?!
Both are stunning! If you are planning on putting the wallhangings in your laundry room, I sure would like to see what you have on display in the rest of the house!
Gorgeous! Hope your planning on leaving the laundry room door open. I guess these would force me to keep my laundry room clean.
Wowser! These are fabulous. Love everything about them. Am in agreement with others. My laundry room would not support such beauty.
beautiful job!!!
Two stunning creations.
Gosh, those are gorgeous.
I agree with not going in the laundry room. These are stunning. Beautiful work. BrendaK
Gorgeous! You are doing beautiful work. Thanks for showing us.
FWIW, I think the colored backgrounds are absolutely lovely!
Love your fire island hosta. Those are colors I love!
All three are beautiful! I love the background of the wedding star ones. Is the dusty pink wall the laundry room wall color? I think they go great with that. I agree with the others that I would not put them in a laundry room. Perhaps you spend a lot of time in there folding laundry and ironing and you want something to make you happy when you are in there?

I am simply agog!
WoW! I would have those beauties hanging for all to see!! Thanks for sharing
Your work is awesome. I love your color choices. As far as it all being a learning process, I always think of each quilt I make as practice for my next one. I try to learn from each one as I go.
Beautiful!!!
Wow--those are great! So how much time do you spend in your laundry room? LOL! I so want to make a Judy Niemeyer but am chicken--how hard is it really? I've heard her method makes the PP pretty easy as the points have some leeway. did you take a class?
I agree! In my foyer/ living Room!
Those are stunning! I love them as is! I agree! In my foyer/ living Room where everyone can see them! How hard are they to make? I am still in beginners stage!😩
Stunning quilts! I thought the same as some of the others, "Hang in her laundry room? No way!!".
But then I thought, maybe she spends quite a bit of time in there. And she wants those beautiful quilts where SHE can enjoy them as often as possible. No matter where you hang them, it will definitely make the room somewhere I'd want to be. A-ha! Another scenario...others may want to do laundry if the gorgeous quilts are in there. Freeing you up to have more time to quilt...LOL Regards, Kif |
