wow and double wow

fireworkslover 06-20-2010 08:08 AM

Yes, it's paper pieced, however the smallest two, blue and purple (not shown here yet) are fused. The red one got so thick with all the seam allowances piles on top of each other, I just could see making more even smaller than that one, which is 9" diameter finished. The pattern is by Pat Wolfe and I found it in American Quilter magazine last Nov. She had one 20" star block, framed with a black batik background. I changed it up by making 7 more and changing the sizes, so they range from 6" diameter to 20" diameter.
There are 8 stars each a different color: turquoise, pink, red, yellow, blue, green, orange and purple. Some or all also have gold metallic fabric &/or thread as part of their design. Still lots more stitching to do. I will post a pic. of the finished quilt, when it get's to that point- a month from now?

Oh yes, it'll stay in my house and go up on the tall wall in the loft. That's the only space large enough for this since it's almost as big as a queen size quilt, but meant for the wall not a bed.

virtualbernie 06-20-2010 09:56 AM
