I've seen the blooming 9patch before. It's such an interesting pattern! But not so easy to do with scraps--as you need a certain amount of each print, and scrappy is what I usually do. I'd like to sew one sometime though. Your quilts look so cozy.

I am planning a B9P for my bed one of these days. I'm collecting the fabrics slowly. Generally I make mostly scrappy quilts, and I think for a scrappy B9P, rather than focus on having one pattern for each section, I would focus on using one color, in scrappy prints. It might not have quite the same look, but it would be a fun way to try one.

For example, pink florals then picking up a color from the pink floral, perhaps yellow, then make that row yellow florals, then to a color from the yellows, perhaps blue, and doing blue florals... just an idea.
