Why can't it go in the microwave? I thought that was the point, to be able to take a hot bowl out without a potholder or burning your fingers?

These can be made to use in the microwave if you use 100% cotton material, batting and thread. Warm & natural/white are not all cotton. Be sure you do the quilting also with 100% cotton.
I accidentally did quilting on one with poly thread and gave my DD instructions to not put that one in microwave. Better safe than sorry. genda

My microwave is eye level and sometimes the bowl is to hot to get out of microwave. I think I will make one for my DDIL's
& myself.

I guess it can,,,I use mine for both,,,but mostly for ladeling hot soup or chili right out of the pot..

Same here-hot bowl and pot holder. These bowl holders would be so much nicer. I'm looking forward to the tute. Would love to make a couple for DH and myself.

What a neat idea. I need one of these to carry my MIL's bowl of oatmeal to her bedroom every morning. I've just ben using a dish towel. One of these would be super.

I understood this is to be used in microwave so that once ready to take out
no hot pads needed
