I made these to hold hot soup and such,,,they do NOT go in the microwave,,,but they have 2 layers of batting, and they match with my grape theme kitchen..

There are several patterns,,,someone did one on here,,,but mine is my own draft and a bit different. I will do a tute when I get a chance ,soon..

These are really nice. We are having ham and beans tonight and I could use these to hold the bowls. I usually use a potholder, not near as clever

blueangel 12-29-2011 04:52 PM

Awesome job

luce321 12-29-2011 04:55 PM

What a unique idea. The are so cute and will really come in handy. Thanks for sharing.

BuzzinBumble 12-29-2011 05:08 PM

That's a wonderful idea! Reminds me of teapot cozies... only a hot soup cozy. Hey I bet it would work for tea pots too and you could still see the pretty teapot!

Jingle 12-29-2011 07:36 PM

Great idea and great work.

lfstamper 12-29-2011 07:37 PM

sandraa 12-29-2011 07:46 PM

That's a great idea and they fit your bowls perfect. Nice job!

Nanamoms 12-29-2011 09:27 PM

Love these!! Can't wait until you post your tute!! But of course, I need them ASAP!!

pdunn56 12-29-2011 09:54 PM

I have that same fabric , love it! I also made a microwave bowl for myself but I did use the Warm Tater cotton batting and do put it in the microwave with no problems. Next one I make will be in a darker print so the splashes don't show and also a bit deeper. Trial and error :-)

Jan Rutherford 12-29-2011 09:57 PM

VERY NICE .... LOVE the grape themed fabric.....also a great project, never heard oif this , but love the idea!

very nice!!!

scrappy2 12-30-2011 04:52 AM

What a good idea. If you used all cotton batting could you put it in the microwave?

homecaregiver 12-30-2011 05:03 AM

I've seen several of these on the board recently and I really like this idea. Do they help keep the microwave cleaner.
thanks for sharing these and you did a great job.

I dont know why ome would put them in the microwave....I just use mine to protect my hands from the hot bowl...

coldquilter 12-30-2011 06:00 AM

That is really cool. Neat idea and I would imagine they would come in very handy.

littlesurfer 12-30-2011 06:04 AM

Love your idea. Hope to see your tute when you get it done. I always grab a potholder when I have a bowl of hot food and it works but isn't nearly so cute. Thanks for sharing.

I do it because then I have a cool handle to lift the bowl out , my microwave is over my stove so it has to be picked up and put down. It works for me this way....

Poakie 12-30-2011 09:44 AM

Those are so neat! Thanks for sharing.

patmas57 12-30-2011 01:34 PM

quiltymom 12-31-2011 07:22 AM

Sew very cute!!!

northern lass 12-31-2011 07:32 AM

very pretty

Pink Dogwood 12-31-2011 07:42 AM

These are the cutest ideas. I would like to put mine in the Microwave as it is over the stove and a bit high when dishes are little too hot to handle. My plan is to use Warm & Natural inside thinking it will be safe in the Micro. Hope I am thinking right.

bjcombs2022 12-31-2011 08:42 AM

Great idea! I love it!

If you made them with the all cotton potato bag batting, they would work. This batting is specifically designed to go into the microwave since it does not have any synthetics in it.
