As a wonderfully wise quilter on the doll quilt swap said, what you make is who you are at the moment. I am usually very undisciplined in my quilting. Those who are kind call it "arty" or creative. In the aftermath of evacuating for Hurricane Irene, I decided to declutter and simplify my life. I have a long way to go, but my decision to make this little quilt for the September swap does reflect that sentiment. Suffice it to say, my seam ripper got a good work out and I had to look at binding tutorials more than once. But ... ta dah ... it's done! And it was fun.

Krystna, it is wonderful! I have some of those same fabrics, being a black and white junkie!

You did a great job, your partner will love it.

Yup. It is indeed a 10 minute block with the edges pinched back to fake a Cathedral Window. The colors were for this month's doll quilt swap - black and white with a splash of color.

I am sooooo proud of myself, hahaha.

You must have been feeling beautiful at the time, because your quilt definitely is.

The Babe 09-07-2011 09:30 AM

What size squares did you use?

Krystyna 09-07-2011 09:34 AM

4" and then I trimmed the blocks since nothing I make is ever quite even!

Very nice. Out of curiosity, did you prewash your red to check for bleading?

Nope. It's for a doll quilt swap, so I didn't think it was necessary.
