First attempt at this ever....

I am so excited.... I am not a sewer (except quilts). Several people posted a link to MS site for a tute to make a tote..and it looked kinda easy..so I gave it a try tonight. I do have some boo boo's in it...BUT nothing major. The next one I make will be a bigger one... just to try different sizes out. Thanks for looking..... HAPPY NEW YEARS everyone...

It's beautiful! do more!

Looks great to me.
Happy New Year to you too. |
very cute. Happy new years
I watched that tute last night and I think you did a great job. I have made mayt totes and am now excited about this new method. I love you fabric choices. :):):)
Looks great. I haven't made a proper tote yet (did make a denim lunchbag for my husband....but is hardly toteworthy). Love the fabrics you have chosen.
Nicely done. Good fabric choices.
I watched the tute the other night and it is definitely on my 'to do list'. It's a great way to use up bits of leftover charms and looks really easy to put together. |
Fun! Great way to start the New Year! Bring on more :)
I must have missed this tute. Can you share it so I can check it out, too. Your bag looks perfect.
Very, very nice. Love the colors.
turned out very nice happy new year!!!
very nice, can't see any mistakes
You did a great job and thank you for sharing
Have a Blessed day and New Year Ellen |
I like it, I like it! Just the right size for me right now. Some days, I need a big bag, but these days, I like one a little smaller, because I have some shoulder pain going on.
Congrats on making your first tote--It looks just great! Your colors are lovely. Those things you are calling minor boo boo's, they are "custom design modifications"!
you did a great job.
Really nice job!
Looks great. Looks like the tote Missouri Star Quilt Co had on YouTube that I watched last night. Thanks for sharing. I want to make one.
Nice tote!! make more!!Be sure to post!
It came out quite lovely.

Looks great...congrats!
Is this the tute from Missouri Quilt? Watched it yesterday, and it is on my to-do list.
Great bag - love the colours that you have used.
I did this one in Batik...don't have a picture...but if you sew two layer cakes together for the bottom and then cut them the size of your charms it makes a little deeper purse and comes out very nicely. Just make sure you center your seam to the center of the purse. Layer cakes are 10" in lieu of the 7" Jennie used. Layer cakes can also be cut to make the charm squares. Get 4 out of one layer cake.

very pretty!

I saw your awesome bag on here during the night and since I couldn't sleep I watched the video link and decided I would try one too. Here is my version with a shorter handle.
