your quilting is awesome!!!! Keep up the good work!!! I finally learned the rocking stitch.... I started out doing a stabbing stitch too.

The quilting is very nice. I prefer not to use a hoop when I hand quilt. You do need to make certain that the quilt is basted very well, though, so you don't quilt in tucks.

It's lovely! Your stitches are even and small. I hand quilt, rock my needle and don't always get consistent stitch size. So what....
Alex Anderson has a number of videos on hand quilting and she goes into great detail. They are worth watching. And you have to have your quilt loose in the hoop or you cannot rock the needle. I am currently handquilting a queen quilt without the hoop and it is working just fine...Keep at it!!!!

I think you did a beautiful job! My stitches are always iffy. I have trouble with the rocking stitch and do the jab stitch also.

Good work.
Don't give up it takes time and practice and it will become second nature to sit and quilt . I encourage you to continue to try to rock the needle it will come ,stab quilting is sooooooo slow. Continue to use a hoop and practice a little every day .
