Thank you all! It was machine quilted - very tight meandering at first - took awhile to make it more open and free. Two sided for two reasons - Daughter does not make her bed until she goes to bed - I also loved the material and knew that the additional practice would be good.

Picking the colors was easy - all from April Cornell, Maypole from Moda

Congrats on finishing your first quilt!!! You have done a terrific job and NO ONE would ever know it is a first time!!! I love your fabrics and the pattern you picked. And you made it two sided-that is something I have not attempted yet!!

Very nice quilt. Love the small squares on the top and the giant squares on the back, nice idea. Nice quilting too.
I am a new quilter too, just made my fifth quilt. I feel that I do have to warn you, just incase you did not already discover this, quilting is addictive. I do not know which is worse, thinking about my next quilt while working on my current one or buying fabrics because I never have enough patterns and colors. LOL :wink: Just teasing, however true it is, I love quilting.
