I would love to know which method of QAYG you used on this and was it a complex process? I've seen several methods, and your quilt is gorgeous!

You did a great job. It's beautiful. I recently made a quilt I was quite proud of. My first big one. A lady looked at it who is a very seasoned quilter. She said-I can tell you are a newbie. Yet, she did not tell me what looked wrong. I'd like to see her quilts she made the first few years. This lady also teaches classes. Needless to say, she will not be getting any of my money. Here is the rule I follow. If you put the quilt up against the house next to yours, see if you can still see the "mistakes" on it when you look at it from standing at your house. If you still see the mistake, re do it. HaHA. Be proud of that qult. It is perfect.

Always keep in mind that the only people who don't make mistakes are dead people. I tell myself this often...:D

AGREE!!!!! Terrific first quilt. Mine was a rail fence, tied, took a children's class since I was insecure about not doing it right. In an effort to shop in my stash, I pulled out an old project yesterday. The friendship stars were originally made probably ten years ago when I started out. Now I know the are really POINTLESS friendship stars. I've learned a lot since those early years and continue to learn from many sources ...you tube, books, classes, and the endless internet sources including this board that I LOVE.

Sewbeeit2 03-23-2013 05:51 AM

You need to enter it in your state fair under category" my first quilt."..
it is definitely a blue ribbon winner!!!!
