Good job! Try Frisian pens for marking. I have not had any problems with them not washing out.

plain old, cheap white chalk works fine--but do not use "dust-free" cause it has an oil in it. I like the purple be-gone (air--so you can't mark and then leave on for very long) or the blue markers that disappear with water (a spray bottle works fine). I also really like the F & P ceramic chalk pen--fine line, and like most chalk you can use a nylon scrubby to get it off.

Congratulations on your first finish... some things take practice and machine binding has been one of those practice things for me... you're on your way.
