First landscape quilt was finished in 2008. It is from Nancy Ziemann's book on Landscape Quilts.

mimee4 10-07-2009 06:11 AM

Beautiful. Looks like you could reach out and touch the leaves.

Ducky 10-07-2009 06:17 AM

That is just GORGEOUS! Is everything appliqued on top of the background? Wow. Really beautiful.

such a sew and sew 10-07-2009 06:31 AM

Yes everything is sewn onto the background fabric. Interesting, you don't use fusible, you just use one of those glue sticks. I cut out the leaves and flowers while watching tv.Thank you for your comment.

Ninnie 10-07-2009 06:36 AM

I have the book too and have been looking longingly at the quilts....don't know if I could ever do the wonderful job you did!

such a sew and sew 10-11-2009 07:50 AM

It's pretty easy as the glue sticks work better than i thought. just jump in and try. There are no quilt police you know.

beachlady 10-11-2009 08:12 AM

That is so nice!!! Have to try one some day - just like everything else - ......someday.

What a beautiful job you have done. I too have been interested in landscape quilting. I have decided to start my first one this month for a friends birthday in late part of December. I told her I will probably have to give her an IOU.

I have been doing extensive research on landscape quilting and I agree Nancy Zieman's book and DVD is fantastic. Also, Joyce Becker saw similar work with embellishments thrown in. I like her style also. I found a great site www.IQuilt.com (sorry don't know how to make this a link) but this site offers online lessons at a very reasonable price and Joyce Becker has course on Landscape quilting ...$19.95 for Part A and B. The class length is 4 weeks for this amount. I think its worth looking into.

Keep up the good work...I very seldom post but felt I wanted to let you know what a Great Quilt you did.
