I wanted to share my picture of my first project using the Accuquilt Go cutter. The shape is Tumbler. It was fun to make.

Gramof6 03-23-2010 05:35 PM

Ohhhh I love that! Congratulations on your Go! Is your Tumbler the one that is like around 6 inches or so? I think I have that one. Haven't used that Die yet but it is on my to do list. Thank You for sharing.

Sheila Elaine 03-23-2010 05:47 PM

Wow! I've never seen the Tumbler shape done up in this flag design, but it will be a show stopper. I hope you enter it in a Fair or Quilt Show.

Margie 03-23-2010 06:25 PM

I really like the "GO", but I've only done 2 things so far. Of course first was the flag quilt, second is part of a table runner - I used the half square triangle, I don't have it finished yet, but will post when it is done. I just got the 3" half square triangle die cut today, but haven't cut with it yet

montanaquilter 03-23-2010 07:23 PM

I wish I could find a sale like that. I'm surprised, because I tried to us Joann's 40% off coupon on a die cut and they wouldn't let me do it.

craftybear 03-23-2010 09:49 PM

wow, awesome flag!

Pats8e8 03-23-2010 10:34 PM

Hey, that's really cool! I have the tumbler, have only used it for borders so far, I just might have to make a flag for the 4th this year!

Panther Creek Quilting 03-23-2010 11:45 PM

yes it is a wonderful sale!! she's clearing out her go stuff-must not be selling at regular prices and she must be clearing out and getting in new stuff!! either way, don't care why: i'm just glad it's on sale-now i can afford new dies!! they were really expensive and after my initial purchase couldn't afford to buy any more--now i'll help her clear it out though since she's not going to carry it anymore!!!

Wow... that's one great quilt.

I'm now wanting that Go more and more! I've talked myself out of it many time.

Do you have a lot of waste from cutting out the fabric?

pup&pen 03-24-2010 02:44 PM

I really LOVE this quilt...thanks for sharing!

Cheri

Oklahoma Suzie 03-24-2010 02:57 PM

Sew cute.

Mousie 03-24-2010 03:12 PM

wow, would you look at that? It never occurred to me that the Tumbler block could look like a flag. awesome! :-D

pittsburgpam 03-24-2010 03:41 PM

I have one and plan on putting all my scraps through it and make squares for a plain ol' scrappy squares quilt.

I love the flag.

Sheila Elaine 03-24-2010 04:29 PM

All of us with arthritis in our hands need the Go. If you readers pray, pray that Santa or the B'day Fairy sees fit to put one each in a box for all of us.

I'm in awe of that Flag.

kat112000 03-24-2010 04:43 PM

Very cool! I haven't played with my go yet, been too sick. i bought the drunkard's path dies and am going to make that quilt as soon as I practice cutting scraps.

n2scraplvr 03-24-2010 05:09 PM

Just stunning!

I would like to see how you use the tumbler for borders, do you have any pictures.

I really didn't have a pattern, I belong to the yahoo group for accuquilt and I was surfing through the photo albums on that group and I saw a flag quilt and just had to make one too. I just printed out the picture and used it as my guide. Very easy to make.

There is a small amount of waste, but not bad, one just has to be careful and cut fabric to fit the area to be cut. I'm still learning

Karen's Kreations 03-25-2010 05:28 AM

Looks great. My husband bought me an Accuquilt Go for my birthday this year. I've just started using it - love it!

jewelps 03-25-2010 06:17 AM

OMG i love it, that is beautiful, very very nice

Roberta 03-25-2010 07:48 AM

Your quilt is much better then what I'm working on. What did you use for the white rows? Mine are all wrinkled, ironed and starched it to death and still wrinkled so I tore them all out. I want to get a heftier fabric, mine is very thin.

cmapco837 03-25-2010 07:56 AM

what kind of machine is this

Well I used all kinds of light cream colored fabrics for the white rows. I liked using several shades of cream, but the one I saw on the yahoo group only used 2 different fabrics for the light and alternated every other one. Oh I also buy my fabric from a great shop and I stay away from places like JoAnn's fabric and Walmart fabric. Hope you find what you are looking for.

If you do a search on Accuquilt Go cutter you will see it. I is NOT electric you have die cuts that you lay your fabric on and then a mat you lay over the fabric and you turn a handle and feed it through the rollers and it cuts the fabric. They even cut the dog ears off so it is so easy to line things up to sew. You still have to be able to sew the quarter inch seam allowance thought. Sometimes that is a tough job for me. LOL

quilterj 03-25-2010 12:14 PM

Ausome. Love the quilt.
