Great job on a first. Hope that now you are hooked and there will be many many firsts in quilting. Enjoy. Your friend will love that one

Pat yourself on your back for your first quilt - it's beautiful. The longer you quilt, the better and faster you will get, but you're off to a great start.

Your quilt is beautiful. It doesn't look like a first quilt. Your niece is very fortunate.

congrats on finishing your first quilt that is already being loved. I can sympathize with you in trying to make the flannel work. I have a hard time choosing good flannel. It all looks pretty good in the store, but when you wash it, it sometimes warps and pills, other times it works fine. So although I love the feel of it, I don't buy it. I look forward to seeing more of your quilts. P.S. I buy a lot of fabric at yard sales, flea markets, and Goodwill. Many quilters on here post their wonderful finds at the kinds of places.

We all had a first quilt at some point. I never count my time, just enjoy the process! I worked on my first Cathedral Window over a ten year period and made the second one in about one year. They turned out beautiful and will be heirlooms for my children. Don't give up, you will become addictive like the rest of us.:D
