My first quilt was a green and white log cabin, twin size, hand quilted. How I loved that quilt. My son, age 30, keeps it folded on the back seat of his car for anyone riding to use if they are cold. It is so special to me he has it there as his car is his pride and joy, washed and waxed weekly (he's single) LOL. Several times I've mentioned I would like to have it but he refuses to give it up.

Your first was pretty challenging. This was my first quilt made 6 years ago for my brand new grand nephew. Not as adventurous as most for sure.

This is my first quilt. No pattern, just cut squares of about a dozen different fabrics. I had no idea what I was doing. It was for my first granddaughter and she still has to have it to sleep with every night. It also has to be top side up when she sleeps. The binding is wearing thin because of her rubbing it, but the basic quilt is still intact. I had a new Bernina so it has some embroidery squares in it also.

Wow! That is amazing for a first quilt. Here is mine and I'm so happy no one can see the stitching! Have never posted a picture before so hope this works!

My first! Mostly hand-quilted....don't know why I thought I knew what I was doing! Took me a year to finish.... my sister loves it.

Inspireing to see the color you set it with. I have a shoe box full of left over blocks. Now I see what they can become. Marvel

I am sure that Emily will use this for many years. It is so delightful. Marvel

My first quilt was just last year, too. I made it for my DGD. It's a D9P and I named it 'Butterflies in Olivia's Garden'.
Here is a pic. top half A D9P-- bottom half |

It looks great to me and if your not pleased with your hand quilting just keep doing it and you'll be surprised the day you realize your quilting stitches look nice and even. Remember we all seem to have one stitch that has a little tweak to it that becomes our quiting signature. :D |
Wow-most of your "firsts" were fantastic! I just thought it would be fun to take a step back to where we all started to see how far we've come!

Wonderful pics! I don't know how to post pictures, but most of my quilts are given away as soon as they're completed.

I like it!

This is the one that caused this addiction. I am so thankful my sister taught me how to quilt.
