I like the blocks. Can't wait to see the completed quilt.
|
They look good and the white central lines control the scrappiness. I just completed a 20 block scrappy window cover, using pages from an old phone book. that old technique works well today too.

I think you did awesome! I have several blocks just like these that I made, need to finish the rest and get the quilt made...along with several ufos I'm so behind on...

I think your blocks look great! Love scrappy!

I love your blocks, and how nice that as you work you are remembering your mother doing the same. I am in need of following your example because my scrap bag is now completely unmangeable. My husband said it's contents will go on the compost. He's not serious, that would mean divorce! :>)

I really like the white strip down the middle. I just made a 8.5 and 9.5 to try this technique. My DH looked at them and said he liked them so I'm gloing to keep making them. These are also fun to make.

My mother told me my grandmother pieced some of her quilts on muslin so I tried it once. It became a favorite because it had an extra layer of fabric and was warm. Sadly it is in quilt heaven, it was in tatters from so much use.
I am sure your quilt will be that loved too. |
Very nice. I love these kind of quilts.

I had so many scraps, they were beginning to take up way too much room...so I remember my Momma sewing strips on any kind of paper she could find...phone books, sears catalogs, you name it...this is such a wonderful memory...watching her cut with scissors and sewing by hand...So I ordered the 10" papers from MSQC.... and I have cut, pressed, sewed and now I have 40 of these blocks done and they are addicting....I like what I see so far....
