Your free motion quilting in the blue portion is perfect for the theme. It certainly looks like underwater plant life, etc.

belmer 02-03-2011 11:21 AM

beautiful quilt. One of the girls at my work would love this quilt. She is doing her baby's room in these colors and the 'Under the Sea' theme. Was the fabric from a special 'collection' of fabrics?
Thanks for sharing. Eileen.

Don't know where she got hers but Walmart has the same designs. It is very nice fabric. I have some of the tiny check in the center.

annette1952 02-03-2011 08:22 PM

It was from Wal-Mart actually, and I believe it's still current. It was a recent purchase from Caruthersville, MO when they closed their fabric department at the end of the year/beginning of 2011. They had, I think, 3 different fish type prints, the green mottled with printed stitching, and the block print as well as the dk blue and med blue prints for the stripes and backing - everything that I used in this quilt.

It was from a Quilters World, April 2010 issue, under the heading Dino Baby (it was pictured with dinosaur fabrics), but it's also available at e-patterns central.com for $3.99. Here's a link to that site -

I love this pattern, which is probably why I've used it so much. It's different from your usual patchworks, and has prairie points, which are easy to construct and give a dimensional look.

Beautiful :-P

Couldn't find this topic again to tell everyone. That multi color check is on the markdown at my store so if you want it, it may be that way at your store so get it now. Was telling the lady in fabrics about how cute your quilt was,

Annz 02-07-2011 07:13 PM
