The carpenters star ended up being 85" square. I kept adding so it would cover my husband when he was stretched out on the couch. It turned out so much better than I thought it would.

Did you have to wash your fannel frist to keep it from drawing up when dried in dryer? They sure are pretty your family must be so proud of u thanks for sharing such lovely quilts

I love working with flannel. It is so comforting. I got some a few years ago at my lqs and it gets softer with each washing and does not wear out. There is just something about snuggeling under a flannel quilt when it is cold.

They're all beautiful, and you've found such lovely pieces of flannel. Did you use a batting, or just flannel front and back?

I have made 3 quilts from this pattern book. If you look on the web the queen size sells for $560. I gave a class to beginners and they all were able to complete this with little or no trouble but it looks so hard.

Yes, I always wash flannel, as it shrinks a lot.

I used batting to give them stability and will be heavier and cozier when covering up on a cold night.
