That looks great. I'm going to make a fleece blanket for my 6 yr old grandson who LOVES everything cuddly. I hate making all those knots for the fringe, though. This is exactly what I need. Did you use yarn around the edge or heavy cotton, and how many strands?

I use just regular yarn -- like Red Heart and only one strand.

Thanks. I'm off to Joann's now with my coupons. I'll check there for that blade, but have also located it online, so I'm covered. Thanks so much for the tip about that blade.

Nana,

Go back to my post on Page 2. That really makes a pretty blanket.

Darn, I just wrote this reply then proceeded to lose it. Well! Here goes another try.
I just ordered this blade online. This post came at a great time.I bought yards of fleece when it was on sale before Christmas. I intended to crochet aroung them but it is next to impossible without holes, even tried an ice pick!
Now, just have to wait for this to get here!
Question... Do you make your blankets with one layer or two?
Thanks, Phyllis

thank you so much for letting us know about that blade. I have never heard of it. :D

I made one with bright yellow background and brightly colored hot air balloons on it. Then I crocheted around it with red. It is very pretty.

I used just one layer of fleece, although I'll bet you could use more if you wanted. I used a decorative yarn, not a worsted variety, but that was because I wanted a certain look.

Have you seen the two layer fleece blankets that they cut into the blanket from the edge a few inches, they tie the two layers together like a fringe. It's cute too.
