I got my first squishy today! From Tink's Mom, thank you SEW much! And did you mean the shoes are the ugly? I don't think so and my daughter will love them! The pink floral too! The purple will be really useful, a great blender and the bright one I see cut in strips and used as a groovy border on a mini quilt!

Thanks again, :D :D :D

Here's a pic!

It's funny, I have a charm square something similar which Lily was admiring the other day...wait til she gets home and sees this!

BTW - yesterday I was tracing the outline for the Baltimore block and Joey says 'is that freezer paper, Mummy?' It wasn't, is was regular paper, but amazing that he knew the technical term!

Kj05 06-05-2009 06:20 AM

I absolutely love the shoe fabric. I know someone who would love a quilt with it. She collects antique shoes.

I was just thinking how cute it would be in a quilt for a girl who loves to dress up! Or even a sun dress!

So are you saying you have already brain washed Joey?

He could be the next great artist or quilter! Love it!

Ninnie

k3n 06-05-2009 06:22 AM

There, you see Susie? We all LOVE your ugly!

He is really artsy crafty - maybe I should get him hand sewing for starters... he could be the next Kafe Fassett!

amma 06-05-2009 08:05 AM

Very nice fabrics...don't see any ugly ones, either :D :D :D Get a needle and thread in Joey's hands...he will surpass Mr Fassett....Lily can help design fabrics...and both will be able to support you in the manner to which you would like to be accustomed to!!! Not to mention the glorius stash you would have

Chele's came this morning! I love them, although I'd have been afraid to chose one of them myself - but that is what's so great about this, you get fabric you wouldn't usually pick! And now I see it together with the others, I can see possibilities... :D

There were also some sweeties in there ( but Chele, is it safe to give the kids the Atomic Fire Balls?!)

Oh sure, my babies grew up on lemons and Atomic Fire Balls. It's called "entertainment for parents!" Seriously, I hadn't had a fire ball in years and ate one last week. It about killed me! They used to be my favorite candy. My kids love them!

zyxquilts 06-06-2009 02:25 PM

I have your FQs ready to go in the envelope, but have to wait until payday on Tuesday.
I think what I picked will go with what you've already gotten too - guess great minds think alike!! :D

amma 06-06-2009 03:24 PM

I took your package to the mail center today, I hope that you like them! They said it would be about 10 days.....

The quilt shop in my home town used to have "mystery bundles" ... I am a BIG sucker for grab bags. ANyway, I found out the same thing as you ... I would have never picked out most of the fabrics, but as soon as I saw them in the package, lightbulbs went on all over the place!

Thank you for sharing your squishies .... I am having as much fun observing as if I were the recipient. You are truly spreading the joy!

k3n 06-10-2009 09:16 AM

Thanks Omak! The postman blew his horn today and I thought it was another one but no, just some boring registered letter - booo!

Now that would be a real surprise since we don't DO the lottery! Although Hans says we've got as much chance of winning as those who DO!

Sue - thanks, I'll let you know when it arrives! :D

sandpat 06-11-2009 04:15 AM
