I made these "just for fun"....I put magnets on the back for the fridge, but I think push pins glued to it for the bulletin board or without anything for packages would be cute!

I forgot to mention.......these don't match a THING in my kitchen!!! LOL So I'll have to find a home for them! And make more

Very springy! You are so creative!

sdparent 05-06-2010 07:20 AM

So cute!!! I may have to make some for my fridge.

GrammaNancy 05-06-2010 07:23 AM

These are great. So cute.

danmar 05-06-2010 07:23 AM

very pretty!

raptureready 05-06-2010 07:30 AM

Those are adorable. They'd make great "Thinking of you" gifts, bazaar items, or the things that you mentioned. You could even attach them to some appliqued stems on a wall hanging. OR, they'd even be adorable on a baby or bed quilt. Yeah, a block with a vase or flower pot, stems and leaves all appliqued then attach this flower. You might have to do every other block as a pieced one to cut down on the weight but wouldn't that be beautiful?

Quilter7x 05-06-2010 07:34 AM

I'll give you my address. They don't match a thing in my kitchen either, but I love them!

Too cute! Funny what the drive to create will make us do and invent.

Sue Fish 05-06-2010 08:02 AM

those are adorable..can see them on a barrette or headband for a little girl too or just on a gift package

thequilterslink 05-06-2010 08:02 AM

those are adorable, i could use one of them on the tote i just made

raptureready 05-06-2010 08:07 AM

This is one of the greatest things about this board. Someone posts a pix of something that they've done and we're off and running---ideas flying like popcorn on high heat. I hadn't thought about barrettes, headbands or totes but I like those ideas.

bj 05-06-2010 08:07 AM

Those are so cute. They would make really cute teacher gifts.

raptureready 05-06-2010 08:10 AM

Oh and this is Teacher Appreciation Week--or at least it is at our school. Tuesday was "Give the teacher a flower" day, today was "Make a card" day. Tomorrow the PTC is provided a massuese to give shoulder and neck massages. Oh to be a teacher tomorrow. . . . . .

Ms Grace 05-06-2010 08:11 AM

amandasgramma 05-06-2010 08:13 AM

raptureready 05-06-2010 10:20 AM

Okay, I'll admit that I'd like the pattern too.
I've been sitting here trying to figure out how they're made since Quilter7x and Wvdek have already sent their addresses to get these. LOL

I also would like to get the pattern - please.

Granny

amandasgramma 05-06-2010 01:33 PM

Gosh!!! Okay --- I've been gone all day -- sorry or I'd have been back on here sooner!! I've made these years ago and DID put them on my daughters barretts and on her ponytail "thingy".....

For each petal:

ONE 1 1/2" square

Lay the squares down, right sides together. I then took a snip of 2 corners.....doesn't have to be exact -- after all, NO flower is exact and perfect.

I then handstitched a scant 1/4" around three sides with double strand of thread. Do NOT cut the thread.

Now turn the petal inside out. Line up the raw edge and stitch it together. Do NOT cut the thread. When you've finished, very gently pull the thread to gather the petal. Now make a tacking stitch (back and forth in the same place). Then you can go BACK thru the end of the petal to make that gathered end as tight as you can. NOW you can cut the thread.

When you have 6 petals done, take 2 petals and do a tack stitch holding two together. Go on around and kinda overlap the petals just a little bit. The goal is to get the hole in the middle as small as you can. Sew or glue a button to the middle, and glue a magnet to the back!!! VOILA!!!!

SO simple!
