Omak seagulls get a really bad press round here. The tourists feed them and then they make a real nuisance of themselves, stealing food from kids' hands and doing their business everywhere. There are warning signs all over Lyme Regis, which is a beautiful town and beach near where I live, with the picture of a gull titled "Public Enemy Number One" and asking not to feed them (which of course you shouldn't!) They do keep the streets clean of spilled ice cream and fries though. And they're just a bird at the end of the day, doing their bird thing as nature intended! For me who lived in the centre of France, miles from the sea for 5 years, the cry of a gull combined with the smell of sea air is just the BEST thing! :D :D :D |
Beautiful

You are so very talented. I'm sure you'll win a prize at the quilt show.

You did a great job- it is amazing!

OK - I'm whining: It's not fair some people have so much talent and I don't have any!! It is very beautiful and for only your second time doing such a quilt. If you don't win, the judges need to have their eyes checked!! :)

what and incredible piece, it is beautiful!

I envy you living near Lyme Regis. I fell in love with it in 1968 on my 1st trip to England. As for seagulls, despite their sometimes unpleasant habits, they are beautiful birds, your husband took a perfect photo, and you interpreted it beautifully.

Wow, what patience this must have taken! Good luck when you enter this!
